On 1 October, it was time once again for one of our favourite annual traditions, Enviro Insight! This year, we welcomed around 50 guests to Sweden.
With a programme combining site visits, industry presentations and an evening of good food and great company, Enviro Insight 2026 gave us the opportunity to step away from our daily routines, exchange perspectives and catch up with the people we work alongside throughout the year.
A closer look at the industry
We started the day with visits to E.ON Högbytorp and Ragn-Sells, where participants had the opportunity to see the operations up close and gain a better understanding of the processes behind waste management and energy recovery.
Insights into the waste and energy sector
Following the site visits, we continued to Happy Tammsvik for an afternoon of presentations and discussions focusing on some of the developments and challenges shaping the waste and energy sector.
A key topic throughout the afternoon was the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and its implications for the industry, alongside the influence of geopolitical developments on fuel prices and transport decisions. We also discussed the growing role of alternative fuels, including HVO, and how smarter use of existing transport equipment can help improve efficiency and make better use of capacity in both directions.
The programme also touched on recent trends in UK RDF exports, offering further perspectives on how the market is developing and what changes may lie ahead.
Beyond the industry discussions, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from Bertling's headquarters, who shared insights into the Group's future plans. We also highlighted Bertling's ongoing sustainability work and how these initiatives are being integrated into our operations.
As always, it was great to bring together so many different perspectives and experiences, making room for interesting discussions and valuable exchanges.

Of course, Enviro Insight wouldn't be the same without the people who join us each year. After a full day of site visits and discussions, we rounded off the event with a lovely dinner, great company and some memorable karaoke performances!
