Renova offsets emissions for a recent Container transport
As part of our end-to-end sustainability solution, we have teamed up with ClimatePartner to offer global offsetting solutions to our clients. Each transport handled by us can now be carbon-neutralized by offsetting the emissions generated during the operations.
With this concept in place, we are happy to announce that our client Renova has offset the emissions generated during a recent Container transport from Felixstowe to Gothenburg.
Renova’s mission is to take responsibility for waste and recycling over the long term with the aim of contributing to sustainable development. Renova is not only a long-term customer of Bertling Enviro but is also neighboring our Gothenburg office located at Industrvägen with one of their incinerator plants.
Bertling Enviro imports waste products from the UK and then delivers the waste to the plant, where Renova turns the waste products into energy, which supplies 260,000 households in Sweden. About 90% of the waste delivered to Renova's gets converted into recycled materials such as biogas, biofertilizer, or as electricity and heating. Renova is also sorting, and taking out materials that can be reused or recycled such as paper and board. As part of their mission for responsible waste and recycling, we are excited that Renova has now also offset the emissions generated during one of the transportation of waste to their plants. For this recent transport, they selected our “Stopping plastic waste from entering the ocean” Project for offsetting.
